Northeast Seattle is an area bordered by Lake Washington to the East and I-5 to the West and includes several neighborhoods including University District, Ravenna, Wedgwood and Sand Point.

The University District, home to the University of Washington, offers a diverse range of cultural events, live music venues, theatres, and art galleries, attracting both locals and visitors. Many shopping opportunities are offered in this area including University Village, a popular open-air shopping center which offers restaurants, locally owned boutiques, and national retailers.

The University of Washington, one of the leading public research universities in the United States, draws a great number of residents to this area as well as Seattle Children’s Hospital, ranked one of the top three children’s hospitals on the West Coast.

There are also many recreational options in this area including Seattle’s second largest park, Magnuson Park, located along a mile-long stretch of Lake Washington’s shoreline. Magnuson has a huge variety of amenities such as sports fields, community garden, wetland habitat, trails, boat launch, community center, swimming beach, and more. The Burke-Gilman Trail, a multi-use recreational trail, also runs through Northeast Seattle.
